A 35-YEAR-old man who allegedly threatened to kill or cause serious injury to a garda was sent forward to the June sitting of Portlaoise Criminal Circuit Court.

At last week’s sitting of Portlaoise District Court, Garda Sgt Jason Hughes served a book of evidence on Michael Doyle, Amiens Street, Dublin 1.

He is charged with threatening to kill or to cause serious injury to a garda and to obstructing gardaí at Abbeyleix Garda Station on 1 January.

In sending Mr Doyle forward to the 23 June sitting of the Circuit Criminal Court, Judge Susan Fay advised him that he must notify the prosecution within 14 days if he intended to use an alibi in his defence.
