Portlaoise Court: Man accused of sexually assaulting two women

GARDA Lisa Murray served a book of evidence on a man who is charged with two counts of sexual assault when he came before Portlaoise District Court last week.
The 31-year-old, who cannot be named on the direction of Judge Susan Fay, is accused of sexual assaulting two women in Portlaoise on the same day 12 May.
The first offence is alleged to have taken place at Portlaoise train station and the second alleged sexual assault along the Mountmellick Road.
Judge Fay gave the defendant an alibi warning that he must notify gardaí in writing within 14 days if he wished to rely on an alibi in his defence.
She went on to send the man forward to the 14 January sitting of Portlaoise Circuit Criminal Court.
