Portlaoise Court: Two local men charged with aggravated burglary

TWO men were presented with books of evidence and sent forward to the present sitting of Portlaoise Circuit Criminal Court when they appeared at Portlaoise District Court.
Martin Ward and William Ward, both with an address at Clonad, Portlaoise were sent forward to the higher court, charged with aggravated burglary at Harpur’s Crescent, Portlaoise on 21 September last year.
Judge Susan Fay gave the defendants alibi warnings, instructing them that they must notify gardaí in writing within 14 days if they wished to rely on alibis in their defence.
Judge Fay approved free legal aid to both defendants and assigned two counsel to the cases.
