WHAT’S another year?

Gardaí devised a Eurovision-themed Spotify playlist today, after a driver on a 15-year ban was caught behind the wheel.

The car was seized and towed away in Portlaoise, after it was stopped by the Laois Roads Policing Unit.

Posting pictures on social media, Eurovision aficionados on the force devised a Spotify playlist, based on Johnny Logan's Greatest Hits.

The post said: ‘Now Playing: What’s Another Year … Off the Road (15-Year Remix).’

Warming to the Eurovision theme, gardaí said: ‘Ploughing week just wrapped but one motorist in Portlaoise tried to stage one more cheesy comeback:

‘Euro jury votes are in:

*Licence: Nul points

*Insurance: Nul points

*Common sense: Nul points

*Tow truck: Douze points’

As well as douze points, the driver also proved to have nine active penalty points. The creative post on the An Garda Síochána Laois/Offaly Facebook page added:

‘The results are in …

‘Car seized. Driver arrested.

‘If you’re banned, the only track you should be playing is Walk This Way.’
