Driver on cannabis caught in Laois at 169kph

A DRIVER who was caught doing 169kph in Laois tested positive for cannabis in a roadside drug test.
The car was pulled in by gardaí, after a radar speed check recorded the driver doing almost 50kph above the speed limit on the M7 motorway near Portlaoise.
The motorist failed a drug test and was arrested at the scene by the Laois Roads Policing Unit (RPU).
In a social media post today, An Garda Síochána Laois-Offaly said court proceedings have commenced against the driver, who faces charges that include drug driving.
The car was impounded and was towed away from the motorway.
