THE sunny and dry weather conditions on Sunday 6 April proved the ideal day for members of the Knock Vintage Club and Men’s Shed Group to plough the fields around Knock in Spink.
The annual ploughing day was held on Pat Brennan’s farm as the fields were sowed with oats and grass seeds in preparation for the club’s annual Threshing Day in September.

Some great vintage machines were on display with Paddy Dunne showing off his Nuffield with a very unusual drag plough. For the first time at the annual ploughing event two lady ploughers, Julie Meany and Laura Miller, turned up to give a hand and gave an exhibition of how well they could turn the sod.
Mick Meally brought along his little Ferguson 30 with an unusual single reversible plough attached. Noel Fennelly had two Fordson Majors, one of which Laura Miller operated.

Brian Brennan was master of sermonise with Martin Kenna overseeing events and making sure everything was in place while Audrey Brennan keep the troops well-watered and fed with a fantastic array of sandwiches and homemade cakes and buns.
