THE Family Fun and Fashion Day held at Fitz Of Inch, just outside Stradbally, brought together over 850 people in support of Breakthrough Cancer Research. The day’s events were kicked off by celebrity stylist Marietta Doran and fashion expert Mandy Maher, alongside property manager Michael Fitzpatrick, who hosted the highly anticipated best-dressed competition.
The event featured a craft fair in the Sir Hurt Barn with an array of stallholders, including arts and crafts people, holistic vendors, antiques, jewellery makers and many more showcasing their unique creations.
Food vendors, including coffee trucks, ice cream stands, crêpes and burgers added to the festive atmosphere.
The best dressed competition was a highlight of the day, with the theme Festival Chic inspiring fabulous outfits.
Runners-up were Cora O'Brien and Vicky Knight who showcased stunning boho-chic looks. it was Dee Maddock from Kildare who stole the show, with her stunning outfit she purchased 35 years ago for her 21st birthday, complete with a leopard print cowboy hat sourced from a charity shop. Dee’s ensemble was unanimously declared the winner by judges Marietta Doran, Mandy Maher and Michael Fitzpatrick.
The entertainment line-up featured performances from the Vicarstown Ukulele Band, the Buggie School of Dance, Ian Delaney, The Queen Bees and the Belters. Their lively performances infused the event with energy and joy, making it a memorable experience for everyone involved.
Property manager Michael Fitzpatrick said: “It was incredible to witness the creativity and spirit of everyone who participated. Cancer has touched many lives and we are proud to play a part in raising funds for such an important cause. The event was not just about fashion, it was about creating awareness and community involvement.”
He said the success of the day was a testament to the hard work of the local community, with special thanks to Dick White from Breakthrough Cancer Research and all the volunteers who contributed to making the event possible.
He said: “Without our community, this day would not have happened. I am privileged and proud of everyone who showed up to support Fitz of Inch and Breakthrough Cancer Research.”
In addition to the cash donations received on the day, supporters can still contribute online to Breakthrough Cancer Research through www.idonate.ie/fundraiser/fitzofinch.
“A heartfelt thank you is also extended to the behind-the-scenes team, from parking attendants to those who donated raffle prizes and helped set up the stage. Their contributions were vital in ensuring the event’s success,” said Mr Fitzpatrick.
