Fisherstown Run presents over €55,000 to hospital

An amazing amount was collected by the Fisherstown Run in Laois

A GREAT night of celebration was held in The Final Furlong in Ballybrittas on Saturday 9 August, when the committee of the Fisherstown Tractor and Truck Run presented a huge cheque to a hospital oncology clinic.

The cheque for a staggering €55,517 from their hugely successful run last month was proudly presented at the joyful celebration.

Secretary of Fisherstown Tractor and Truck Run, Ciara Noons, said the committee members were blown away with the massive support shown to the run that was held in July.

She said on the night: “This year we are delighted to announce that we have raised a massive €55,517 in aid of the oncology clinic at Saint James’s Hospital.

“Each year we are blown away by the support of the local community and each year the figure continues to rise. In the past two years we have raised over €100,000 for cancer charities.

“We would like to thank every person who supported this cause, whether it be attending on the day, contributing a spot prize or donating. All support is greatly appreciated.”
