Free bulky waste amnesty in Portlaoise
The amnesty will be held on Saturday 9 August
A BULKY waste amnesty will be held in Portlaoise shortly, where people can dump couches and armchairs free of charge.
Laois Co Council has announced that the amnesty will run from 10am to 1pm on Saturday 9 August at Portlaoise Rugby Club.
The amnesty is open to domestic customers only, with a maximum of two items per vehicle allowed.
The collection at the club in Togher is only for couches and armchairs and all items must be clean and dry.
The council holds separate amnesties for mattress and bulky waste disposal annually. Last year alone, 729 mattresses and 218 bed bases were collected for recycling.
