Free parking around Portlaoise town on the run-in to Christmas
The free two-hour parking is allowed on 7, 14 and 21 December.
VISITORS and shoppers to Portlaoise will once again this year be able to avail of two free hours parking around the town and in council owned car parks every Saturday on the run in to Christmas.
Making the announcement at the Portlaoise Municipal District Council November meeting the council acting director of services Paul McLoughlin said: “In line with previous years there will be free parking on the run up to Christmas. It’s two-hours every Saturday on the run up to Christmas.
"The three Saturdays are - the 7th , 14th and the 21st.”
The initiative said Mr McLoughlin, would help local businesses and shoppers during the busy festive season.
