LEADER funding workshops are taking place for individuals, businesses and community groups in Errill, Mountmellick and Borris-in-Ossory.
Laois Partnership Company invites individuals, businesses and community groups to join it at a series of workshops to discuss LEADER funding opportunities.
LEADER is a community-led approach to local development funded through Ireland’s CAP Strategic Plan 2023-2027, financed by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) with funding administered via the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht.
Funding is available towards a wide range of sectors including farm diversification, small and medium enterprise, rural youth, heritage, town and village renewal, community facilities and amenities and renewable energy and environmental projects.
One of the new projects approved for LEADER funding in 2025 was Café Donate in Mountrath. It’s a social enterprise providing job-skills training and community investment. The project came to fruition with LEADER support of €105,267, with funding approved towards building and renovation costs and equipment.
The LEADER workshops take place at 5.30pm on Wednesday 1 October in Mountmellick Development Association Centre. Wednesday 15 October in Borris-in-Ossory Innovation Centre and on Wednesday 5 November in Saint Bernadette’s Hall, Errill.
