Funeral announced for beloved young Laois man

FUNERAL details have been announced for a beloved young Laois man, whose death has caused a deep sense of loss and sadness for his family, colleagues and many friends.

Countless tributes have been paid on RIP.ie to Aidan Delaney from Shanahoe, who worked in construction and is widely remembered as a true gentleman, who had a wonderful sense of humour and was always friendly, pleasant and kind.

A resident of Moate, Co Westmeath, Aidan passed away on Thursday 18 June and will be laid to rest in his native Shanahoe this Tuesday.

He was a much loved son of Mary and Anthony Delaney from Shanahoe, beloved brother of Raymond, Alison and Jack and dearly loved father of Jack. He is also mourned by Jack’s mother Niamh, nephew Will, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, friends and neighbours.

His remains will repose at Burke’s Funeral Home, Mountrath (R32Y661) this Monday evening from 5pm, pausing for prayers at 7pm.

Removal on Tuesday morning to St Bridget’s Church, Shanahoe, for Requiem Mass at 12 noon, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

The family home in Shanahoe is strictly private.
