Funeral for tragic Laois crash victim

FUNERAL arrangements have been announced for a young motorcyclist who died in a road crash in Laois on Tuesday night.
Dawid ‘Davy’ Kluz from Kilbeggan, Westmeath was sadly pronounced dead at the scene of the single-vehicle collision, which happened at the junction of the Portlaoise Road and Ballyroan Road in Abbeyleix shortly before 8pm.
In his death notice on rip.ie today, his family said: ‘Dawid will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by his heartbroken parents Bart and Iwona, his brothers Mateusz, Alan, Jacob and Tymon, his partner Agnieszka, his granny Anna, uncles, aunts, cousins, family, work colleagues and his many friends.
‘Reposing on Friday evening at Nannery’s River View chapel of rest Kilbeggan, from 4.30pm until removal at 6.30pm to the Church of St James, Kilbeggan, arriving for Funeral Prayers at 7pm. Requiem Mass on Saturday at 11am. Cremation afterwards in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan town.’
Gardaí are continuing to appeal for witnesses following the fatal crash. They said: ‘As part of our enquiries, we are particularly anxious to speak with two drivers who were travelling from the Ballyroan Road and turned left onto the N77 towards Abbeyleix, having stopped at the junction shortly before or around 8pm.
‘These individuals may have witnessed key events leading up to the incident and could have vital information that may assist the investigation.
‘We are asking those drivers - or anyone who may know their identity - to please contact Abbeyleix Garda Station on 057 8674100.
‘We also continue to appeal to anyone with dashcam footage or who was in the Abbeyleix area around 8pm to come forward.
‘Any road users or pedestrians who were in the area between 7pm and 8pm and have camera footage, including dash-cam, are asked to make it available to investigating gardaí.
‘Anyone with information is asked to contact Abbeyleix Garda Station at 057 8730580, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.’
