GARDAÍ in Laois seized cars from two unaccompanied learners today, while another motorist was arrested for drug driving.
Vehicles were impounded and towed away in Abbeyleix and Durrow, after both motorists proved to be on learner permits while unaccompanied by qualified drivers.
On a busy day for the Laois Roads Policing Unit, another driver was arrested in Borris-in-Ossory after failing a roadside drug test for cannabis.
Court proceedings have commenced against all three motorists.
Posting pictures from the scenes on the An Garda Síochána Laois Offaly social media sites, gardaí commented: ‘We can’t be everywhere. But we could be anywhere.
'You won’t see us on every road. You won’t pass us at every junction. That’s not how policing works. But you never know which road. Or which moment.’
