THE NAAS Roads Policing Unit (RPU) has issued a public road safety alert following a serious incident involving a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) observed driving dangerously around a roundabout.
According to Gardaí, the vehicle was spotted travelling at excessive speed with six adult passengers on board. The driver lost near control of the car while taking the corner at high speed, raising immediate concern for public safety.
Upon stopping the vehicle, officers discovered that the rear left tyre was significantly deflated. Further investigation revealed that the driver had no valid motor insurance, a serious offence under Irish law.
The vehicle was seized at the scene, and the driver is now facing prosecution in court.
In an online post, Kildare Gardaí said: “Never drive without valid insurance. Regularly check your tyre pressure and overall vehicle condition. Your safety—and the safety of others—depends on it.”
