GARDAÍ are appealing for information after another burglary in the Stradbally area last week.

A white 181 Volkswagen Caddy van was seen acting suspiciously around the time of the break-in, which happened between 1pm and 2pm on Wednesday 4 December.

The burglary is being investigated by gardaí at the detective branch in Portlaoise, who are appealing for information on any unfamiliar individuals and vehicles seen acting suspiciously around the general Stradbally area at the time.

The latest burglary happened within weeks of four other break-ins in the Stradbally and Ballylinan areas, which are also under ongoing investigation.

Two homes at Whitethorn and The Village in Ballylinan were broken into between 5pm and 6.30pm on Thursday 28 November.

There were also two break-ins at Brockley Park in Stradbally, between 5.30pm and 9pm on Friday 15 November. A suspicious male dressed in dark clothing, with his face covered, was seen in the area after 7pm that evening.

A quantity of cash is believed to have been taken from one of the properties.

Witnesses or anyone with information regarding any of the incidents is asked to contact the detective branch at Portlaoise Garda Station on 057 8674130.

Gardaí are warning householders across the county to take measures to secure their property, especially at this time of year and to contact gardaí if they are worried about vehicles or individuals that are acting suspiciously in their areas.
