Garda appeal after Portlaoise robbery

GARDAÍ investigating a frightening robbery in Portlaoise at the weekend have issued an appeal for witnesses.
A woman was sitting in her car when she was approached by a man with a knife, who demanded money.
A substantial amount of CCTV footage has already been gathered as part of the ongoing inquiry. However, gardaí are making one final appeal to the public for assistance.
The knifepoint robbery happened on Saturday night on the Mountmellick Road, between the Glenregan and O’Moore Place estates.
The incident happened after darkness fell, sometime between 7.50pm and 8.30pm.
Anyone who was driving in the area at that time and who may have dash cam footage, even if it may seem insignificant, is asked to contact Portlaoise Garda Station at 057 8674100, or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
Gardaí said: ‘We would also ask for anyone that passed by that location at that time to make contact with us.’
