Information day on renovating derelict/vacant properties in Laois

The drop-in clinic is free of charge to attend.
FOLLOWING the large turnout and interest shown to the initial drop-in information clinic about renovating derelict and vacant properties, Laois County Council is organising another one.
The information clinic, takes place on Wednesday 23 July in Portlaoise Library, Lower Main Street from 10am to 4pm.
It will provide supports to property owners, prospective buyers and developers across Laois who are seeking to transform vacant and derelict residential buildings into homes.

The event is organised by the council’s Regeneration Section and the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI).
The free clinic will offer practical advice and tailored guidance on renovation grants under the Croí Cónaithe Scheme and sustainability upgrades.
Advice from council staff and SEAI experts will be provided on the available grants and funding supports and help navigate the eligibility criteria and application processes. You can also obtain information on sustainable energy upgrades and retrofitting.

The Director of Service at the Planning, Regeneration and Economic Development Department of Laois County Council Angela McEvoy said: “We’re thrilled to see the level of interest and enthusiasm by existing and potential residential property owners. These clinics provide hands-on support to anyone looking to breathe new life into vacant and derelict buildings and in doing so, help revitalise towns and villages across Laois.”
