Kittens found dumped in Laois ditch
The kittens found dumped in a ditch are recovering well in Laois SPCA care
FIVE kittens that were dumped in a Laois ditch have been rescued by an animal welfare charity.
The distressing discovery was made in Clonaslee on Wednesday night, when a call was made to the Laois Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA).
A Laois SPCA volunteer said: “We suspect they were dumped there, as it would be very difficult for them to end up where they were found all by themselves.”
All five kittens have received veterinary care and are recovering well after the ordeal. The charity hopes that good homes will be found, when they are deemed ready for fostering or adoption.
Appealing to people not to dump animals, the charity said on social media: ‘If you need help with kittens, please reach out to us. Yes, it might take us some time to organise help. Yes, it might take us a day or so to reply but we will help you.
‘There is never a good enough reason to abandon them or dump them. There are many ways you can reach out to us for help, so please do.’
