Laois Africa Day promises diverse cultures, music and food
The annual Africa Day takes place in Portlaoise on Saturday 31 May
WITH 54 countries on the continent of Africa and people from some of those countries residing in Laois, the upcoming Laois Africa Day won’t be short of diverse cultures, music and food.
The annual Africa Day takes place in Portlaoise on Saturday 31 May from 11.30am to 6pm and will be held on the grounds of Portlaoise Leisure Centre.
Africa’s rich culture will be showcased on the day through family-friendly activities along with, food, performances, educational events, music, sports, dance, workshops and fashion.
The first event of the day will see a Laois African Support Group side take on a local Garda team in a soccer match with kick off at 11.30am.
All are welcome along to what should be a great day of celebration and unity among all nationalities living in Laois.
