Laois Co Council sign off on €8m overdraft

FIANNA Fáil’s Padraig Flemming Cathaoirleach of the council addressed the issue of an approval for a bank overdraft of €8m for the year December 31, 2025 to finance working capital.

He also sought an additional €15m for the same time period to facilitate the payment of payroll and pensions.

The matter was proposed by councillors Ollie Clooney and Seamus McDonald.

Senior management said there was not a fee for the overdraft for the overdraft facility but they wanted to ensure it was there “in case it was needed.” Approval was given by councillors.
