Laois council wants views on outdoor recreation

The Eco Walk in Glenbarrow
LAOIS County Council is looking for people’s views on how to improve outdoor recreation in the county.
Two public consultations are being held to obtain ideas and suggestions, which will be used to support the development of the County Outdoor Recreation Plan.
Outdoor recreation includes anything that gets people out into nature but not formal sport settings such as soccer, hurling or motorsports.
Encouraging people to get involved in the public consultations, a council spokesperson said: “Tell us what you think about the outdoors, local parks, forests, trails, floating down the river, wild swimming, biking or just relaxing in a wild space. How can we improve outdoor recreation?” An in-person consultation workshop will be held on Thursday 28 November from 6pm-7.30pm at Portlaoise Library on Main Street.
An online workshop will run from 7pm-8pm on Friday 6 December, with a meeting link forwarded following registration. People can register online using the following link – https://forms.office.com/e/kjYMWULVqk?origin=lprLink
