BALLYFIN Players return to the stage this month with a lively evening of drama, comedy, and community spirit. Their three one-act plays will run on Friday 14 November and Saturday 15 November at 7.30pm in the Mountmellick Community Arts Centre.

by Brian Drum rounds off the evening with a light-hearted comedy about matchmaking. When an unsuspecting American lands in an Irish village, the locals aren't one bit pleased.
Rehearsals have been underway since August, and as a newly reformed drama group, the Ballyfin Players say they are grateful for all the local support and enthusiasm shown in recent months.
Producer Gráinne Linden said: “It’s fantastic to see everyone’s hard work come together. This year’s plays are full of heart, humour, and history — a real celebration of local theatre.” Co-producer A.C. Reynolds added: “There’s a great mix of comedy and drama this year. Having children on stage adds a lovely warmth, and it really shows what community theatre is all about.”
A special thanks is extended to Fr Joe Brophy, whose unwavering support and encouragement have once again played a huge part in helping the group bring these productions to life.
