Bracken’s Gala is once again celebrating, as the Portlaoise store was announced as the overall winner of Best Bakers Corner at the Gala Retail Group’s 25th anniversary celebrations.

This win coming weeks after Bracken’s Gala won a Gala Retail Excellence Award.

The Gala Retail category awards are the highest accolades within the group, and this prestigious award-win for Bracken’s Gala recognises the store’s commitment to providing quality baked goods to its customers.

The event was held last week to commemorate 25 years of Gala Retail, bringing together Gala retailers, wholesalers and suppliers.

Commenting on Bracken’s Gala, Gary Desmond, CEO of Gala Retail, congratulated the winning store, saying: “The team at Bracken’s Gala store are dedicated to their Bakers Corner offering, creating a large range of breads, savoury pastries and delicious treats. The aroma from the bakery is a warm welcome to its customers every morning. Many congratulations to the entire team at the store. Bracken’s Gala is a deserving winner and we wish the store continued success.” Just last month, several other Gala Retail stores from the county were acknowledged at the Group’s Excellence Awards for demonstrating exemplary standards in convenience retailing. These included: Dowling's Gala, Killenard; Dempsey's Gala, Portarlington; Bracken's Gala, Portlaoise; Lawlor's Gala, Durrow; Dunne's Gala, Portlaoise and Simpson's Gala, Stradbally.
