Laois gardaí catch drunk driver doing 168kph

LAOIS gardaí have arrested a drink driver who was speeding at 168kph in freezing conditions.
The culprit proved to be three times the legal alcohol limit, after the car was stopped on the M7 motorway.
Posting a photo from the scene, gardaí said on social media this evening: ‘The Laois Roads Policing Unit stopped this vehicle speeding at 168kph in freezing conditions on the M7.
‘More worrying was the fact that the driver was arrested and found to be three times the alcohol limit.’
The driver has been charged to appear before Portlaoise District Court in early 2025.
