Laois gets new music festival weekend

Another music festival is on the way to Stradbally

A NEW music festival is on the way to Stradbally, with legendary band The Human League among the headliners.

The two-day Greenfields Festival will move to a larger site at the 1,100-acre Ballykilcavan Farm and Brewery in 2026, after four years at The Abbeylands site across the border in Athy, Co Kildare.

The festival camping and glamping weekend will run over the 2026 May bank holiday weekend, with craft beers brewed just 150m from the site. Other beer brands will also be available and there will be shuttle buses from Athy.

Festival headliners announced on Friday include The Human League and Dec Pierce's Block Rockin' Beats, with 90 more acts to be announced over five stages. Tickets will go on sale this Thursday, 23 October.

Established in 2022, the family-friendly festival promises music, entertainment and attractions for all ages.

Ballykilcavan owner David Walsh-Kemmis said on social media that there has been a 'massive, positive reaction' to the news.

He said: ‘Beyond excited to find out this week that Dec Pierce's Block Rockin' Beats and The Human League will be playing in the field in front of our house next year!’
