Laois man disqualified from driving for parking on footpath
Portlaoise Courthouse
A MAN was disqualified from driving for parking on a footpath in Portarlington.
Alan Flynn from Parnell Crescent, Knockmay, Portlaoise had been due at Portlaoise District Court to face a summons of parking on footpath along Main Street in Portarlington on 25 June.
However, he was not present when his case was called.
The court heard that the defendant, who had nine previous convictions, was parked in such a manner that was causing an obstruction to pedestrians.
Judge Andrew Cody convicted him of the offence, fined him €250 and disqualified him from driving for three months.
