LAOIS-OFFALY gardaí have seized a car from a young driver who was caught doing donuts at a junction.

Posting a photo from the scene on social media, gardaí said: ‘Donuts still belong in the bakery – not on the tarmac.’

While gardaí did not disclose the location, the incident happened at a road junction in the division on Friday night.

Laois-Offaly gardaí said: ‘A young male driver thought it was a good idea to do donuts at a junction last night – and to make it look like something out of ‘Fast & the Farmer-ous’, there was a tractor right there beside him, with the driver watching away.

‘When stopped, the car was also found to be defective.’

The car was towed away by a recovery vehicle and the driver is expected to make a court appearance.

Gardaí commented: ‘Roads are not racetracks, tractors are not props and donuts still belong in the bakery – not on the tarmac.’
