A PAST pupil of Portlaoise College has been recognised for her academic achievement after she received an Entrance Scholarship to Carlow College.

Amy Kennedy was awarded the scholarship in acknowledgement of her outstanding Leaving Certificate results. She is now studying Politics and Psychology (Hons) at the college. Amy was also an Entrance Scholarship recipient upon joining Portlaoise College, marking a continued record of academic success. The presentation ceremony took place on Tuesday, 14 April in the Presidential Dining Room, where students were honoured for their commitment to academic excellence.

The event brought together scholarship recipients, college staff and invited guests, highlighting the importance of dedication and perseverance in education. Among those in attendance was Noel Daly, principal of Portlaoise College, who praised Amy’s achievement.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Daly said, “Amy’s success is a reflection of her hard work and determination throughout her time at Portlaoise College.
