Laois taxi driver seriously injured following assault

A serious assault on a taxi driver in Laois is being investigated by gardaí.
The driver was brought to hospital after suffering severe facial injuries in the assault last night.
The incident happened on the Conoboro Road in Rathdowney at about 9pm on Monday 23 September.
The victim was brought to Portaoise hospital for treatment following the assault.
While gardaí in Abbeyleix are following a definite line of inquiry, they are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward.
