TODAY is “a proud day” for Dunamase College/Coláiste Dhún Másc, said principal Dympna Kelly, after the leaving certificate class of 2026 received their results.

“These results reflect years of hard work, determination and commitment from our students and they should be immensely proud of what they have achieved,” she said.

Dympna noted strong performances across many subjects, including Irish, mathematics and business, while this year's results in computer science, physical education and music “were especially impressive,” she said.

“These achievements highlight both the talent of our students and the wide range of opportunities available at Dunamase College/Coláiste Dhún Másc.” Dympna said the school is “especially proud” of students who achieved the highest grades, over 600 points, and those who surpassed the 500-point milestone: “Their success is a testament to their dedication and effort throughout their senior cycle years,” she said.

“However, today is about more than points alone,” she continued, adding: “Many students achieved personal goals, exceeded their own expectations and overcame challenges along the way. Those achievements deserve every bit as much recognition and celebration.” Approximately 1,200 Laois pupils across 11 secondary schools sat the leaving certificate exams in 2026.

A record number of candidates received results across the country: a total of 70,411 students, up 15 per cent on 2024.

The 2026 results represent the fourth year of leaving certificate results in the history of Dunamase College/Coláiste Dhún Másc.

“As a young school, we are immensely proud of the standards our students continue to set and the success they continue to achieve,” said Dympna.

“These results build on the strong tradition already being established in the school. Our students have received recognition from leading institutions, including Trinity College Dublin, University College Dublin, Maynooth University and Mary Immaculate College and we look forward to seeing where this year's graduates go next.” Dympna thanked the school’s teachers, parents and guardians for the support they have provided students throughout their journey.

“Most importantly, congratulations to our leaving certificate students. We are incredibly proud of you and wish you every success in the next chapter of your lives.”
