Mercedes driver arrested in Laois for doing 212kph

A DRIVER has been arrested in Laois for doing a scorching 212kph in a Mercedes.
The speed was recorded by the Laois Roads Policing Unit yesterday evening, while operating a radar check on the M7 motorway in the county.
Posting a photo from the scene on social media today, gardaí said: ‘No, This Is Not Acceptable! Toto Would NOT Approve. Toto Wolff might tolerate a flying lap in Monaco … but not on the M7 in Laois.’
Gardaí added that the Mercedes was stopped safely and the motorist was arrested for dangerous driving.
They said: ‘Next debrief: Portlaoise District Court. On a public road there are no trophies, no champagne and no chequered flags. Just a driver in handcuffs and a pit stop at a Garda station.’
