Missing persons appeal stood down after the discovery of a body

THE APPEAL for assistance in locating missing Newbridge woman Aisling Kelly has been stood down following the discovery of a female body.
The 68-year-old woman had been reported missing from her home in Newbridge on Tuesday, September 29.
Gardaí had previously issued an appeal for information regarding her whereabouts and said both officers and her family were concerned for her wellbeing.
In an update issued on Friday, October 2, the Garda Press Office confirmed that the missing person appeal had been withdrawn following the discovery of a deceased female.
A Garda statement said: "Following the discovery of a body of a female, the missing person appeal in respect of Aisling Kelly (68) who was reported missing from her home in Newbridge, Co Kildare on Tuesday 29th September 2026, has been stood down."
An Garda Síochána thanked members of the public and the media for their assistance during the search.
No further details have been released at this time.
