New search operation underway in Laois for body of Fiona Pender

Gardaí began new search in Laois for body of Fiona Pender in Laois on Wednesday 28 May

GARDAÍ investigating the murder and disappearance of Fiona Pender commenced a second search operation in Laois today 26 May.

The search comes a day after they concluded a search for her body on lands at Killeigh in County Offaly.

The latest search is taking place in the Slieve Bloom Mountains near Clonaslee.

Fiona who was 25-year of age and who was seven months pregnant at the time of her disappearance, was last seen at approximately 6am on Friday 23 August 1996 at her flat on Church Street, Tullamore.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have any information about the disappearance of Fiona and who has not spoken to Gardaí, to come forward and speak with them.
