Objections being prepared to proposed IPAS centres in Laois village

The public information evening takes place on Monday 28 July in the Castle Arms Hotel, Durrow

A PUBLIC information evening is taking place in Durrow for those opposed to plans that have been submitted to Laois County Council to convert two premises in the town to accommodate asylum seekers.

The public event is organised by Durrow Community Council.

The information evening takes place from 7pm to 9pm on Monday 28 July from 7pm to 9pm in the Castle Arms Hotel, Durrow.

Those who are attending and interested in lodging objections, submissions or observations to the plans, will be provided with information packs that include ready prepared submissions to be filled in. The correct planning file numbers to use. A step-by-step guide to filling out the forms. Information on the payment process. A checklist to ensure the submissions are correct.

The organisers say several tables will be available to collect the information packs from and ask the volunteers some brief questions. You will also be guided and assisted on submitting objections online.
