Portlaoise store sells €1m winning ticket

Portlaoise has been revealed as the town to have sold a winning Daily Million top prize ticket worth €1 million.

As reported in the Laois Nationalist on Saturday, the prize was won in the 9pm Daily Million draw on Friday 18 July. The winner purchased the Quick Pick ticket on the day of the draw.

The National Lottery confirmed today that the store is located in Portlaoise, but they are still keeping locals in suspense. The exact location where the winning Daily Million Top Prize was purchased will not be announced until tomorrow, Tuesday 22 July.

The winning numbers were: 9, 20, 25, 33, 37, 39 and the bonus was 29.

The National Lottery is urging all players in the Portlaoise area to check their tickets carefully and if you’re holding the winning ticket, be sure to contact the National Lottery prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie to arrange the collection of your prize.

Darragh O’Dwyer, National Lottery spokesperson said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to confirm that Friday’s Daily Million top prize ticket worth an incredible €1,000,000 was sold in Portlaoise.

"We can’t wait to reveal the winning store location tomorrow, and we’re looking forward to celebrating this exciting win with the local community."
