THE home of Electric Picnic had another big picnic today - and the inimitable parish priest didn't lose his head!
The first Stradbally Parish Picnic was a roaring success, as the community gathered for endless fun in glorious sunshine and high spirits.
The world famous Timahoe Male Choir, the Stradbally Commuity Choir and both the Lynam and the Buggie schools of dance were among those providing wonderful entertainment.
As the photo above posted by Stradbally Noticeboard proves, organiser Fr David Vard PP was well a-head in the enjoyment stakes and ensured that the community fundraiser at St Colman’s NS was an afternoon to remember.
Large crowds thronged the site, where the big attractions included a draw for a €1,000 Center Parcs gift voucher or two Electric Picnic tickets.
After an unforgettable day, Stradbally Noticeboard said on social media: ‘A really lovely day at the first ever Stradbally Parish Picnic Day, congratulations to all involved - especially Fr David Vard. Well done to all concerned.’
