By Joe Barrett There was a bit of a verbal kerfuffle between Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil tallymen earlier this morning in the count centre in Portlaoise. It centered around the broadcasting of tallies on a monitor in the center.

Eager tally men from all the candidates in this year’s general election in Laois got to work immediately when the constituency returning officer Rory Hanniffy declared the official start to the count.

Thomas (Tommy) Lawlor, Graigue, Rathdowney passed away peacefully in the loving care of staff at Fennor Care Facility, Urlingford on Friday 29 November. Thomas was predeceased by his parents Joe and Annastatia and brother Bobby.
