Roadmap to be launched on the future of Stradbally

The report on the future of Stradbally will be launched on 22 October

A ROADMAP for the future of Stradbally will be launched this month in collaboration with South East Technological University (SETU).

Stradbally Tidy Towns has announced the upcoming launch of a new research study titled ‘Stradbally Town Centre Health Check’, which focuses on key issues such as consumer behaviour, business attitudes, land use and the need for community development in the town.

The comprehensive study, which includes in-depth analysis and research carried out by SETU international business students, will be launched in Stradbally Library at 7.15pm on Tuesday 22 October.

Spokesperson Nuala Monaghan described the publication as a critical tool for shaping the future of Stradbally and providing a roadmap for sustainable growth that can be used to apply for future funding, while preserving the town’s unique heritage and culture.

The findings may guide future planning to enhance residents' quality of life and promote sustainable development in the area. Key factors identified in the report include the absence of a multipurpose community centre and the need for improved infrastructure.

The study emphasises the importance of addressing the town’s transport links, pedestrian safety and sustainable development. It also highlights a need for new enterprises such as restaurants and community spaces, which could stimulate the local economy and enhance Stradbally’s appeal to both residents and visitors.

Stradbally Tidy Towns said the report also represents ‘a significant step’ in ensuring that the town remains a vibrant and inclusive community for current and future generations.

The findings will be presented to local stakeholders, including county councillors, and will form the basis for future town planning and revitalisation projects.

The community will be encouraged to engage with the findings and contribute to the next steps in the town’s development journey.
