Search sadly ends for missing midlands woman

AN appeal for a missing midlands woman has sadly been stood down, following the discovery of a body.
Gardaí confirmed shortly before 5pm today that the search for 58-year-old Mirjana Pap has been called off following the discovery.
Mirjana was reported missing from her home in Athlone, Co Westmeath on Saturday 28 December. She was last seen in Athlone in the early hours of Saturday morning.
In a sad update, gardaí said in a statement: ‘Following the discovery of a woman’s body earlier this afternoon, Monday 30 December in Athlone, the missing person appeal in respect of Mirjana Pap has been stood down.
‘We would like to thank the public and media for their assistance in this matter.’
