Singer-songwriter Joseph Gorman launches debut album in Mountmellick

SINGER/SONGWRITER Joseph Gorman recently launched his debut album in front of a packed house at Mountmellick Arts Centre.
Joseph was supported on the night by musicians Joe Byrne and Enda Byrne, chart-topping folk singer Emer Dunne from Mountmellick and by the Timahoe Men’s Choir.
The culmination of five years’ work, the album, titled showcases a contemporary interpretation of traditional Irish folk music.
The CD features songs blending rich storytelling, evocative melodies and a deep connection with Irish cultural heritage. The 14 tracks include timeless Irish ballads like and alongside original contemporary folk songs such as and .
It also tells stories of the lived Irish experience in recent times, including the cost-of-living crisis, moving to Australia, Covid, rural isolation, humorous come-all-ye songs and recent sporting events.
The album is currently available for streaming on all major online platforms.
