Spectacular Indian festival taking place in Laois on Saturday

A full day of family fun activities is taking place at the Midlands Indian Fest in Portlaoise GAA grounds.
PORTLAOISE GAA grounds at Rathleague is the place to be tomorrow Saturday 5 July for the second annual Midlands Indian Fest.

The all-day multi-cultural event with its live music, dance performances, sports and dance competitions along with entertaining activities for children and mouth-watering multi-cuisine food stalls is a 12-hour festival that celebrates all things Indian.

The organisers have built on last year’s event that attracted large crowds, both young and old, from across the country to Portlaoise where they experienced the warm hospitality of local people and businesses where Indian culture was exchanged with other cultural groups including Irish and local culture. The diverse attendance from multicultural communities proved the festival’s inclusive spirit and fostered the bond among the communities.

Tomorrow's festival that runs from 9am to 9pm will again showcase the rich heritage of India through immersive experiences that includes traditional music, dance, art and cuisine. It will also serves as a bridge between cultures, encouraging cultural exchange, integration, the diversity within Indian traditions and welcomes people from all backgrounds.
