Speeding BMW in Laois 'lived up to the slogan'

A BMW X6 recorded doing 178 kph in Laois was ‘living up to the slogan - but not in a good way’ according to gardaí.
The ‘ultimate driving machine’ roared straight into a garda speed check on the M7 motorway in the county.
Posting an image from the scene on social media today, the Laois Roads Policing Unit said: ‘This BMW was living up to the slogan - but not in a good way. The ‘Ultimate Driving Machine’ hit 178 kph on the M7 and straight into a garda speed check.'
The driver was arrested and charged to appear before an upcoming sitting of Portlaoise District Court.
Gardaí appealed to motorists: ‘Drive smart. Drive legal. Stay safe.’
