THE countdown to one of Ireland’s top agricultural shows is on, as the Ossory Agricultural Show 2026 was officially launched at the Ossory Showgrounds in Coolfin, Rathdowney on the evening of Monday, 29 June.

William Aird, Fine Gael TD for Laois, was guest of honour for the occasion as people came out in force to see what the 2026 show has in store.

“It was wonderful to welcome committee members, sponsors, exhibitors, volunteers and supporters as we looked ahead to another fantastic day celebrating agriculture, livestock, equestrian competition, vintage displays, trucks, family entertainment, local food, crafts and so much more”, the organisers said in a Facebook post.

The 2026 show promises the return of old favourites, such as the vintage car and tractor show, vintage displays, tug of war, tractor pull, calf raffle, competitions, music, and the famous truck show – a display of vintage and modern trucks, gleaming rigs, and the best of the Irish haulage scene.

The Ossory Agricultural show was founded in Donaghmore in 1898. In 1915, with the first World War raging across Europe, it moved to Rathdowney. In 2000, it moved to its current home in Coolfin. It is a celebration of the longstanding traditions of Ireland's agricultural community.

“A sincere thank you to everyone who joined us for the launch and to all those working behind the scenes to make this year's show possible. We look forward to welcoming exhibitors, competitors, traders and visitors from near and far for a fantastic day out”, said the organisers.

The Ossory Agricultural Show takes place Sunday, 26 July 2026 in Coolfin, Rathdowney.
