UPDATE: Water flowing after burst water main repaired in Portlaoise

Uisce Éireann has successfully completed emergency repairs to a burst water main on the Dublin Road in Portlaoise

UISCE Éireann said that its crews have successfully completed emergency repairs to a burst water main on the Dublin Road in Portlaoise with the water supply now returning to affected customers the area.

James Joyce from Uisce Éireann thanked customers for their patience and support during the repair works.

He said: “We understand how disruptive an unplanned water outage can be, and we sincerely thank our customers for their patience while our crews carried out these emergency repairs. The burst was complex due to its location and scale, but our teams worked as quickly and safely as possible to restore water supply to all affected customers.” 

Mr Joyce said that in most cases, it takes two to three hours after repairs are completed for normal supply to return. However, customers located at the end of the network or on higher ground may experience a longer delay as the system recharges.
