VISITING restrictions imposed at Portlaoise hospital due to a Covid surge have been eased, but people are still urged not to visit if they have any respiratory symptoms.
Midlands Regional Hospital Portlaoise confirmed that visiting restrictions have been lifted but mask wearing for visitors will continue until Wednesday 27 August.
The hospital said in a statement. 'We would request that members of the public do not visit if they feel unwell or experience any respiratory symptoms. Our continued thanks for your support in preventing the spread of infection in the hospital.'
Restrictions were imposed late last week, due to a high number of patients with Covid, which appeared to be circulating in the community. As a result, visiting restrictions were implemented to help reduce the spread of the virus.
