It is believed a person of interest in the murder of Jamey Carney has travelled to the Middle East.
The man, who was known to Carney, left Ireland in the early hours of Tuesday morning before her body was found at her home in Killarney later that day.
Gardaí say they are working with international police as part of their search.
Carney was born in New York and moved to Ireland with her 13-year-old daughter in 2021.
Gardaí said a postmortem examination has been completed by state pathologist Dr Linda Mulligan, the results of which are not being released for operational reasons.

An incident room has been established at Killarney Garda Station and a senior investigating officer has been appointed to lead the murder investigation.
Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to come forward, particularly anyone who was in the Muckross Road area of Killarney between 11pm on July 6th and 5am on July 7th and who may have camera footage.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Killarney Garda Station on 064 667 1160, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
