Two teenagers have been injured following a collision between a car and a van near Mooncoin, Co. Kilkenny, on Tuesday.

The incident happened at 12:30 am on the L3401 in the townland of Clogga, between Piltown and Mooncoin.

The driver of the car, an adult male in his late teens, was brought to University Hospital Waterford for treatment of serious injuries.

A passenger in the car, a male juvenile, also attended University Hospital Waterford, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injury.

A technical examination of the scene was conducted by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area around the time of the collision are asked to make it available to investigating Gardaí.

Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
