La La Land edits Ryan Gosling in film poster for 10th anniversary rerelease

Ryan Gosling’s dance moves have been altered in the poster for La La Land 10 years after the release of the film, after the star expressed regret at his posing.
The 2016 musical is returning to the big screen to celebrate its 10th anniversary, and the new poster has changed the position of Gosling’s hand.
The image still features Gosling and his co-star Emma Stone dancing together in Griffith Park in Los Angeles, but his hand is now pointed upward to match Stone’s, rather than flat like in the original.
In an interview with The Wall Street Journal in 2024, Gosling shared his regret at how he held his hand in the original poster.
“I didn’t know this would become the poster for the movie,” he said. “It just killed the energy that way. I call it La La Hand.”
In an Instagram post sharing the new poster, the caption playfully says: “A minor adjustment.”
La La Land was directed by Damien Chazelle and starred Gosling and Stone as a couple who meet and fall in love while pursuing their dreams in Los Angeles.
The film was a commercial success, grossing over 500 million dollars, and also received widespread critical acclaim.
La La Land was incorrectly announced as the winner of best picture at the 2017 Oscars by actress Faye Dunaway.
The cast and crew took to the stage before the correct winner, Moonlight, was announced.
Stone won best actress and Chazelle won best director at the ceremony.
