This year promises to be better than ever as we celebrate our 70th anniversary on Sunday 8 September. Come sand ee all the animals, dog show, crafts, patchwork, food, vegetables, photos, vintage section, stalls and activities. It promises to be a great family day out.

TFI LOCAL LINK BUS

The bus travels to Portlaoise every Tuesday and Friday and to Tullamore every Thursday, leaving from the village at 9am. Travel pass is accepted. The cost is €3 return for adults and children over five years old. You must book the evening before prior to 5pm on 057 8692168.

Bus service from Birr to Portlaoise, Monday to Sunday. Pick-up point is Londis, Clonaslee. Weekday times: 6.28, 10.28,14.13, 17.58, 21.53; Sunday: 8.43, 12.53, 16.58 and 20.23. The cost is €4 return and the free travel pass is accepted. Also travels on bank holidays. For more information, contact 057 8692168.

MOUNTMELLICK LIBRARY

The Gallery in Mountmellick library is delighted to host Tom Joyce’s exhibition Escapes – A Retrospective. This beautiful collection of seascapes, landscapes and still life will be available to view in the Art Gallery, Mountmellick library during the month of September. Tom’s beautiful collection of oil works are characterised by careful composition, thoughtful colour selection and the subtle use of light, resulting in a serene and harmonious atmosphere that captivates viewers’ attention and imagination.

Are you a senior interested in improving your computer skills by recording your life stories or memories digitally? We are seeking expressions of interest for a free ten-week computer course starting in mid-September. No experience necessary, all training provided, suitable for absolute beginners.

The library’s baby book club will return, but on Thursdays, starting on 19 September at 10.30am.
